Community Service

Community Service Today

Bremerton Sons of Norway has established two endowed scholarships with Olympic College Scholarship Foundation. Each scholarship will provide $1,000 per year in perpetuity.  Students must apply using the established College/State procedure. One award will benefit graduates of Kitsap and Mason County high schools and the other will help students studying nursing.

Since 2013 we have supported the Mountain View Middle School “Green Quilting Project” with Box Tops and Labels for Education.  The school uses the money from these labels to purchase the necessary materials to make quilts for local homeless shelters. Students are learning not only to use a sewing machine, but to take care of the needy in our community.

Since 2014 we have invited students from the South Kitsap Culinary Arts Program to participate in our Julesalg (Christmas Bazaar).  We not only make a financial donation to their program, but offer them the experience of taking meal orders, handling money, and serving food to the public.
